Home About the Author

The author was California born and Arkansas raised, where his family has been for four generations. He studied in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, receiving a degree in American Studies and two theological degrees. Lon has served as pastor in three churches in Florida, West Virginia, Tennessee, and is currently the Senior Pastor of Baptist Home Church in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. He loves the outdoors, especially hiking and backpacking, mountain biking, and running

He, and his wife of 30 years have three grown children all in their twenties. The family has traveled to do mission work in American urban cities, Indian reservations, and international countries. Lon finished the Appalachian Trail in 2007 and in 2008 started mountain biking the Continental Divide Trail that goes from Montana to New Mexico with his Oklahoma college roommate.
